In Champaign IL for the day. Some friends said it's the best pizza in IL. Tried a thin & thick crust veggie 12 inchers. Very crispy and flavorful crust, saue just a hint of sweetness, veggies fresh. It's up there in my IL top 5 for sure. Started in 1971 by 2 UofI college kids. Our server has been here for 50 years! Thick crust was my fav, thin was hers

Any time I'm in Champaign (my home town) I'm going to Garcia's. It's a walk down memory lane. Went there frequently way back starting in the 70s when I was a college student. And nothing could compare or today compare with a Gutbuster with a coke. One of my visits a few years ago one of the Garcia's brothers talked with me and gave me advice about how to keep and care for the carry my carry out order. A bit of history: Garcia's pioneered in serving pizza by the slice. They started out with a few stores in Champaign-Urbana, including three near campus. In a numbere of ways they were progressive. The decor was great, including gas fireplaces and pine wood siding. They designed and built electric cars for deliveries. And there was the "Flying Tomato" balloon they flew over the Twin Cities which was an advertising marvel. They established restaurants in campus towns across the Midwest in their great heyday. For whatever reasons, that empire shrank to this store. But the food is great My current boss says that he and his future wife would have a date by going to Garcia's in Bloomington and then to a movie. Ah memories. And incomparable pizzas.

The owner delivered to us himself right on time as promised, in his own vehicle. He was incredibly kind and even toted the pizza in a bag with hot coals. The food was hot, presentation was perfect, and it was exactly the dose of nostalgia we needed on this snowy holiday weekend. Long live Garcia’s! #foreverfan

Come get a slice of Champaign’s history We ordered the classic Gutbuster pizza and wow just amazing Ralph the owner served our pizza at the drive through the window. Highly recommend!

The gut buster is our favorite, my boyfriend and I order from here all the time. We’re two college students and it’s a great price for what you get! Also the owner is incredibly involved and helpful. He delivers the pizza in his own car and even came out one night in the middle of a snowstorm. The pizza is always hot and delicious! We will always support Garcia’s snd you should too! <3

Idc what anyone says...Garcia's Pizza is THE best pizza in C-U, hands down! Papa Del's is a fairly close second, but to me, nothing compares to Garcia's Pizza and that includes any pizzeria in Chicago. I lived in Chicago for two years and tried countless pizzerias there and, while there were obviously some fantastic pizza spots, NOTHING hit the way Garcia's hits. I've been going to Garcia's since my grandmother would take my sister and I(we'd bring friends as well sometimes) to the old location on campus on Green St when we were kids in the '90s. God I miss that place! Two floors, a little arcade, beer(which I obviously didn't partake in at Garcia's until I turned 21), the fireplace, the pool table...every time I eat Garcia's now, it hits me with a huge wave of nostalgia for that location and those times. Both the location and the pizza are staples of my childhood and even though there's only one location left in town, I will ALWAYS be a loyal customer. Love, love, LOVE Garcia's!!

Garcia's pizza is unique and delicious whether you enjoy cheese or their Gutbuster. Their service is always friendly and their prices are very reasonable. Drive-thru is always quick. I've enjoyed stopping to grab a slice for more than 30 years.
